Sustainability Partners Limited ("we", "us") is a sustainability consultancy based at Level 1, Devonport Wharf, Devonport, Auckland. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

The short version

  • We only collect what we need to reply to you and to understand whether we can help.
  • We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time.

What we collect

When you make an enquiry. Your answers to our short questions (what's prompting your enquiry, your approximate annual gas spend and your timing), plus your name, company and email address, and your phone number and message if you choose to give them.

When you request a guide. Your name, company and email address.

When you book a call. Bookings are made through Calendly. You give Calendly your name, email address and any notes you add, and Calendly shares these with us so we can hold the call.

When you use the funding eligibility checker. Your answers stay in your browser. They are not sent to us or stored.

When you browse the site. We collect information about how the site is used. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

Spam protection. We don't store your IP address. When a form is submitted, we create a scrambled, short-lived code from it to limit repeated submissions, and that code is deleted automatically shortly afterwards.

Information from other sources

Sometimes we receive information about you from someone else, for example a colleague who refers you to us, or a public business directory. When that happens, we will let you know that we have it, where it came from and why we hold it, unless an exception under the Privacy Act applies.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal and deliver our services.
  • To give you the guide you asked for and follow up on your interest.
  • To understand which pages and articles are useful, using combined figures rather than individual records.
  • To send you occasional updates, but only if you have agreed to receive them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the records the law requires us to keep, such as tax records for clients.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and our business. They handle your information on our behalf and only for that purpose:

  • Google Cloud (Firebase): website hosting and secure storage of enquiries, in its Australia (Sydney) region.
  • Resend: sends us an email notification when you submit a form (United States).
  • Microsoft 365: our business email.
  • Calendly: call bookings (United States).
  • Google Analytics: website analytics (United States).

On some projects we bring in trusted specialist partners. We only share your information with them if you agree.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Storing information overseas

Some of the providers above store or process information outside New Zealand, in Australia and the United States. We use well-established providers that apply strong security safeguards to the information they hold.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and see which pages people use. It does not tell us who you are. We also record when certain actions happen, such as starting or submitting the enquiry form, without recording your name or contact details.

The Calendly booking calendar and the Google Maps map on our contact page may set their own cookies when they load.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and guide requests that don't lead to work together: deleted after 24 months.
  • Client records: kept for as long as we need them for the work, and for seven years where tax law requires it.
  • Spam-protection codes: deleted automatically shortly after they are created.

Keeping it secure

Information sent through this website is encrypted in transit. Enquiries are stored in a database that cannot be read from the website and that only we can access. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it, unless we have to keep it by law. Email us at info@sustainabilitypartners.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.

If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
